"COMPASSION CONNECTS THE ARTS" Floating Installation in Venice: CALL TO ACTION 23/24: INVITATION TO WRITE US WITH A VISUAL & JOIN!

WHEN CONFRONTED WITH SUFFERING, LOOK FOR THE HELPERS!

We are planning to create our floating art installation about compassion at the same time of the next Venice Biennial of Contemporary Arts 2024 and Cinema in its 81th edition with as many visuals and quotes we will receive via email this year about the impact of compassion in our lives.

We are looking to receive answers via email from you to the basic question: How you had received or had given compassionate actions when confronted with the ups and down that happens in a lifetime? How they had changed and helped you?

Looking forward to connecting, promoting the impact of #compassion in life and receiving your personal written answers & visual contributions during this year 2023 and next year until August 2024 via email: info@compassionboats.com

Compassion Boats

Providing safe spaces for reflection, education, creativity, care and communication actions to meditate, study and promote compassion.
To understand, transform and alleviate mental and emotional suffering in a context full of nature elements, healing arts and presence.
To travel interesting online and offline itineraries guided by compassion values, principles and practices from the artistic waters of Venice and abroad to the inner worlds and wellbeing waters of each human being.

The Compassion Boats initiatives will be implemented with the following actions:
-THE NAVIGATION EXPERIENCES
-THE INNER NAVIGATION BOOKLETS
-THE MAPS, ITINERARIES AND PROGRAMS
-THE BOARD BOAT DIARIES
-THE COMMUNICATION MATERIALS
-THE COMMUNITY
-THE CARING TRANSPORTS AND SERVICES
-THE PORTS, HARBOURS AND LANDS

You could join these initiatives with the format of impermanent boats gatherings in the constant flow:
-From remote: accessing to our written and video materials, connecting online to our events.
-In presence: joining individual journeys or group boat trips. Please note that the boat types are diverse: well-known "gondolas", electric and hybrid boats, sailing boats, rowing boats, etc. The Itineraries could last an hour, a morning, a full day, full weekends depending on the program. Capacity is limited according to the boat types.

Long-term partnerships with specific groups interested in discovering more about the compassion values and principles with meditation practices is possible.

And if you would like to go deeper into compassion education for a period of time, we provide in these settings the Emory University Cognitively-Based Compassion Trainings CBCT®

CBCT® (Cognitively-Based Compassion Training) is a system of contemplative exercises designed to strengthen and sustain compassion. Practices include training in attentional stability and increased emotional awareness, as well as targeted analytical reflections to understand better one’s relationship with self and others. The reflective exercises seek critical insights into the way one’s mindsets and attitudes can be shifted to support personal resiliency, to foster an inclusive and more accurate understanding of others, and ultimately to intensify altruistic motivation. With practice, informed compassion can become a spontaneous response that permeates one’s life.

Please do not hesitate to contact us if you any questions.

About Us

Welcome to our home page, where you can find out all the news, updates and information about the upcoming compassion boats initiatives and events.

The Compassion Boats is a capstone project developed by E.V.A.L. for the Applied Compassion Training (ACT®) by the Center for Compassion and Altruism Research and Education of Stanford Medicine.

The ultimate aim of the Applied Compassion Training is to prepare people who feel an urgency to bring forth and integrate compassionate action into their occupations, professions, communities and institutions, as well as into their personal development. ACT offers participants a chance to apply compassion in practice during the program and use the dialogue, skill-building, and tools in real-time. Participants who successfully complete ACT will be in a variety of fields as AMBASSADORS of compassion in many fields, including educators, facilitators, consultants, physicians, nurses, coaches, and leaders of all kinds.
